The mother of a young child who was detained while passing in front of the Hpakant Tatma Kung camp on a motorcycle is reportedly worried, as there has been no contact or return of the child to this day.

It is reported that on 22 February, while traveling to Hpakant on a motorcycle with a friend, the young child, a child IDP from the conflict, was stopped, checked, and detained by military commission troops at the Tatma Kung camp.

Although the friend was released, the 16 year old Maung Mading Naw Seng (aka Maung Lahtaw Naw Seng) has not been released and remains in detention. There has been no contact with him for five days as of today.

The detained child is a conflict displaced child from Maw Wan Kalay village in Hpakant. Family members have not received any information and do not know where to inquire, causing them great worry.

Currently, in the Hpakant area, clashes continue between the military commission and KIA affiliated forces, and civilian movement is being tightly monitored and checked along roads.
