Since around March 2025, a large number of internally displaced people, students, and job seekers have arrived in the city. Pajau Media February 17, 2026 In Kachin State, Myitkyina, prices of goods and chicken have been steadily increasing due to the lack of incoming cargo trucks, according to local housewives. Starting from the last week of January, clashes broke out between the military council and joint revolutionary forces along the Mandalay–Myitkyina highway. As a result, cargo trucks and passenger vehicles have been prohibited from traveling along the routes passing through Indaw and Shwebo.
