Mytel phone and internet services have been restored in several towns in Kachin State, including Myitkyina, Namti, Mogaung, Mohnyin, and Hopin, according to local residents. In Namti, the Mytel phone line reportedly became available again around June 23, though some users could not recall the exact date.

Residents in Mogaung confirmed that Mytel service has been accessible for over a week, with internet access requiring the use of paid VPN services, costing between 10,000 and 15,000 kyats per month.

A fuel transporter traveling between Hopin and Mohnyin noted that Mytel was the only network available in certain areas, leading some to use it out of necessity, while others continued to avoid it due to its military ties. Along the Mandalay-Myitkyina highway, an increasing number of travelers and locals are relying on Mytel, though some still refuse to use the military-owned operator.

Mytel officially announced on June 16, 2025, that its 2G network for calls had been restored across Kachin State, providing a boost in connectivity and morale for the region. However, internet access often requires VPNs, and usage remains mixed due to political concerns and ongoing security issues.
