A Scrap Shop Destroyed by Fire in Myitkyina

A scrap shop located in Aye Mya Tharya Ward, Myitkyina, was destroyed by fire at around 1:00 AM today, March 24, according to sources.

The shop, located in Aye Mya Tharya Ward (5), was engaged in buying and selling scrap materials such as iron, cans, and empty containers. Local residents stated that the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit.

The fire was extinguished by firefighters, social assistance groups, and local residents. Although the entire house was burned down, the fire did not spread to nearby houses.

It is reported that the homeowners were away on a trip at the time, and only workers employed at the shop were present in the house. Previously, on March 5, a restaurant in Manhkring Ward, Myitkyina, was also destroyed by fire.
