Bhamaw-Kawng Ja Village Airstrike Death Toll Rises to 22

Following an airstrike carried out by the military junta on Kawng Ja Village, located across the river from Bhamaw town, the number of civilian deaths has risen to 22, with 28 people injured, according to available information.
Although there was no fighting taking place in the Kawng Ja village area, the military junta conducted an airstrike using a jet fighter on the evening of January 22.
The bombing occurred while people were gathered at a funeral house, which reportedly led to a high number of casualties and injuries.
In addition, at Sut Chyai Maw area in Sabaw Village, along the Hpakant road, the military junta forces reportedly carried out a drone bomb attack at around 7:00 p.m. on January 22.
Although there were no human casualties resulting from the drone attack, one house was burned down and destroyed.
