Four Children Killed, 23 Seriously Injured Within One Month

In Kachin State, four children were killed and 23 others were seriously injured within the month of February due to indiscriminate firing of weapons, according to a statement released by Kachin Human Rights Watch.
Currently, frequent clashes are occurring in Bhamaw, Hpakant, and Waimaw townships in Kachin State. Civilians have been affected as the military has reportedly continued conducting targeted airstrikes, artillery shelling, and attacks in areas where civilians live.
Due to the military’s use of airstrikes, heavy artillery, drones, and gunfire, one man and three minors lost their lives, while 23 civilians including two schoolgirls sustained serious injuries.
According to the Kachin Human Rights Watch (KHRW), a total of 133 people were killed in Kachin State during 2025 as a result of violent actions carried out by the military.
