Kachin Chief Minister Says Fuel Is Sufficient, Warns Against Price Gouging

The Chief Minister of Kachin State, U Hkyet Hting Nan, has stated that there is sufficient fuel in Kachin State and warned fuel sellers not to raise prices unfairly.


According to the Kachin State Chief Minister, 150,000 gallons of 92 gasoline, 458,820 gallons of PHSD (Premium Diesel), and 113,150 gallons of kerosene are expected to arrive in Kachin State.


Therefore, he stated that fuel sellers must not increase prices or refuse to sell fuel, and that action will be taken against those who violate the regulations.


Although authorities have warned that action will be taken against those selling fuel at higher prices, fuel prices have not decreased so far and remain high, according to reports.


Currently, at fuel stations in Myitkyina, the capital of Kachin State, 92 gasoline is still being sold for more than 9,000 kyats per liter, according to local residents.
