On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Kachin Revolution Day observed today, the Chairman of the KIO/KIA urged people not to accept financial fraud and online scam operations.
He stated that at present, special attention must be paid to financial fraud and online scam activities, and emphasized that people should not get involved in such operations. He also called for preventing the establishment and operation of scam businesses within their local areas.
Online scam operations involve abducting young people and forcing them to carry out financial fraud. Those who fail to meet targets are subjected to physical abuse, killing, and sexual violence. Due to these scam syndicates, the public continues to suffer significant financial losses on a daily basis.
At the international level, strong efforts are also being made to combat financial fraud and scam operations, including arresting perpetrators and rescuing victims who are being held by scam gangs.
Furthermore, Kachin people living abroad were urged not to neglect or abandon their national identity, but instead to actively contribute, in whatever way they can, to the struggle for freedom.
