Daily clashes continue to occur across Kachin State, and civilians are reportedly being injured and killed every day due to artillery shelling, drone bomb attacks, and airstrikes carried out by the military junta.
Civilians are being injured daily due to artillery fire and landmines. On February 10 at around 1:00 p.m., while people were traveling along the Lone Khin–Maw Si Sar road, a landmine exploded, injuring two women from San Kywel village and one man from Seik Mu village.
In addition, daily airstrikes have been reported in the Hpakant–Mashi Kahtawng area, and military tensions remain high with ongoing clashes between the two sides.
From the last week of January through the second week of February in the Hpakant area, five civilians were killed and up to 20 others were injured due to artillery fire, landmines, and other weapons.
Similarly, in villages along the Myitkyina–Hpakant road, junta forces have taken up positions and are conducting military operations. Security has also been tightened in areas where troops are stationed, and due to the security situation, displaced civilians are reportedly too afraid to temporarily return to their homes.
