At least 19 civilians, including 6 children, were killed and 18 others injured in Kachin State during the month of September 2025 as a result of ongoing airstrikes, drone attacks, and artillery shelling by the junta forces, according to a statement released by the Kachin Human Rights Watch (KHRW).

Throughout September 2025, numerous airstrikes occurred across Kachin State, resulting in an increasing number of civilian casualties, including children.

Furthermore, since the military coup in Myanmar, widespread and intense attacks and oppression against civilians have continued across the country. The airstrikes being carried out by the junta are said to constitute violations of international humanitarian law, amounting to war crimes.

In addition, junta troops have been conducting daily airstrikes not only in areas where clashes are ongoing but also in regions where no active fighting has been reported, carrying out both ground assaults and aerial bombings, according to reports.
