30 Clashes Reported in Kachin Within One Week

A total of 30 classes occurred within one week across conflict frontlines in Bhamaw, Waimaw, and Hpakant in Kachin State, including areas under KIA Brigades 11 and 8, according to a statement released by the Kachin Independence Organization/Army (KIO/KIA) Information and Public Relations Department.
From April 19 to 25, military council forces reportedly carried out daily attacks using aircraft, drones, and heavy artillery along the Bhamaw, Waimaw, and Hpakant frontlines. Within the week, there were 6 airstrikes, 55 drone bombings, and 165 heavy artillery shelling incidents.
Most of the airstrikes and artillery attacks were concentrated along the Bhamaw frontline. Due to advancing ground offensives by military council troops, there were 7 defensive clashes in the Bhamaw and Waimaw areas within the week, along with 2 clashes in Brigade 8 territory and 4 clashes in Brigade 9 territory.
Similarly, engagements between both sides were also reported in the territories of Brigades 2, 7, and 11. In addition to ground offensives, the military council has continued aerial attacks using drones and heavy weapons, contributing to ongoing tensions in the region.
