73 Women Killed, 80 Injured During August

In August, 73 women were killed due to aerial and ground attacks by the military council, according to a statement released by the Burmese Women's Union (BWU).
The military council has been committing various war crimes, crimes against humanity, and human rights violations through multiple methods since February 1, 2021, for nearly five years. In addition to the fatalities, up to 80 people were injured.
The casualties among women include:
54 killed and 54 injured due to aerial attacks. 7 killed and 22 injured due to artillery shelling. 8 killed due to executions. 3 killed due to arson attacks. 1 killed and 4 injured due to conflict related sexual violence.
During August, the number of women who lost their lives included four from Kachin State, while Mandalay Region was the area with the highest number of female fatalities.
In the previous month of July, there were 64 women killed and 80 injured, including two women from Kachin State.
