According to local sources, the Myanmar military carried out an airstrike on October 27 targeting the headquarters of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) 8th Brigade, located in Mohnyin District, Kachin State.
Reports indicate that the military used Y-12 aircraft to conduct multiple bombing runs in Mohnyin District, even though no clashes were taking place at the time.
Recently, the junta’s air force has also been conducting continuous bombing operations in several areas where no fighting has occurred, including Mohnyin, Hpakant, and Sawlaw.
Due to the junta’s ongoing airstrikes, KIA spokesperson Colonel Naw Bu had earlier, on October 26, urged the public to remain cautious about the increasing dangers from such attacks.
