A Christian Religious Preacher From Putao Died In A Car Crash And The Body Will Be Buried Today.

According to a person close to the deceased, the body of a preacher from Kawng Kahtawng, who died when his car fell into a ravine on the way from Putao to Myitkyina, will be buried on March 9.

It is reported that the deceased Preacher died when his car failed to control the speed on the way from Putao to Myitkyina and plunged into a ravine near Tsanam Creek.

The incident happened last March 5th when the car overturned on his way of picking up the children who were living in Myitkyina.

A local close to the deceased said, “He went to Myitkyina on March 5 to pick up his children. But there is no contact with his children. After investigating, we found out that his car fell into a ravine near Lai Sung Yang Village, near Sumpra Bum town, near Tsanam stream on March 7.”

Since then, officials from the Khandi Social Assistance Association and the responsible elders from the church in Putao went and transported the corpse to his family who live in Putao on the evening of March 8, yesterday.

“The preacher held a necessary meeting at church in Putao, and the next day after the meeting he went to Myitkyina alone in a white car. There are no curves in the road where he fell. There is just a straight road. We still don’t know how he fell into the ravine. I can’t tell if it’s because he’s so sleepy. Now we have been able to transport the corpse to Putao,” said an official from the Evangelical Church.

The deceased is a 62-year-old resident of Kawng Kahtawng Ward, Putao Town whose name is U Jay Re Naw, who has 5 children and president of Putao Evangelical Church AG DC-5. In addition, he is the chairman of the Putao AG DC-5 General Assembly, as well as serving as a committee member of the General Assembly of Myanmar AG.
