SAC Airstrikes Most Frequent in Sagaing Region

Across Myanmar, the military regime has been carrying out intense daily aerial bombardments, and on a nationwide scale, the Sagaing Region has become the area most heavily targeted by airstrikes, according to sources.

In the Sagaing Region, during the two month period from December 2025 to early 2026, military airstrikes resulted in the deaths of up to 32 people, while 50 others were injured.

According to reports released by the Wetlet Information Network, in December alone there were 14 airstrike incidents, resulting in 26 deaths and 40 injuries.

In January as well, the Sagaing Region continues to experience daily attacks involving both drone bombs and aerial bombardments, with casualties still being reported.

Nationwide, there were 1,180 airstrikes recorded in 2025, of which 263 incidents occurred in Sagaing Region, making it the most heavily targeted area.

Furthermore, the Myanmar Military and Security Studies Institute (MDSI) reported that airstrikes in the Sagaing Region resulted in 504 deaths and 774 injuries.
