On March 14th, at around 3:00 PM, three civilians were returning home from work in one motorcycle, and the SAC troops shot with guns when they turned back, after seeing that the SAC was conducting an inspection on the road. Therefore, one of the people on the motorbike was hit by the gunshot and seriously injured.
According to eyewitness, “On the way to Nam Koi Road and the JZ resort, they saw the SAC troops inspecting the civilians who were passing by, so they got scared and turned back on their motorbike. At that time, the SAC troops ordered them to stop the motorbike, but they didn’t stop. Consequently, the SAC troops shot them with guns, and a man who was riding in the middle was hit by the bullet.”

It is known that the man who was shot is about 30 years old and lives in Nam Koi Ward (6), and was seriously injured due to the gunshot wound to the abdomen and is currently receiving medical treatment at the Myitkyina General Hospital.
“During these days, the SAC has been doing inspections on pedestrians. Those who come back from the farms were also inspected. Sometimes they wear the military uniform and sometimes they wear civilian clothes to conduct inspections,” said a local resident.
It is reported that the locals from Myitkyina are living in fear because the SAC has vigorously implemented the Conscription Law which was promulgated last February 10th.
