A Leader of Local Humanitarian Organization From Mawlu Who Was Taking A Patient To Myitkyina General Hospital Was Arrested On The Way Back From Myitkyina

According to a local resident of Mawlu, a leader of one of the local humanitarian organisations named U San Shay from Mawlu Town which is the Border of Sagaing Region and Kachin State, was arrested on his way back from sending the wounded civilian to Myitkyina general hospital who injured from the clashes on February 20.
“It is not known exactly yet why he was arrested. We heard that there were clashes between the SAC and the People Defense Forces (PDF) on February 20 and many people injured due to the heavy artillery weapons hit by SAC at the intersection of Nabar Road. So, he sent those patients to Myitkyina Hospital and was arrested on the way back,” said a person close to U San Shay.
On February 20th, the joint anti-coup armed forces and the SAC clashed at the intersection of Nabar Road, and people got injured due to the clashes. As a result, U San Shay was arrested on the way back, when he was taking those injured patients to Myitkyina.
According to the people close to U San Shay, it is not known yet which forces he was arrested by, and there was not any news even after 5 days since the day of his arrest.
“I don’t know which forces captured him. So, I don’t know where to go to get his information. As of today, it’s been five days and I still haven’t heard any news yet. He always help those in need as usual. I think someone has set it up on purpose,” added the Mawlu resident above.
U San Shay is a member of the Metta ArMarn Social Assistance Association from Mawlu. He is a person who goes to the places where the clashes took place and helps the injured civilians actively with the desire to help and he is an ordinary citizen who would go to any place that needs help at any time.
After the SAC promulgated a conscription law, pedestrians and travelers, including young people, are investigated and arrested frequently these days.
