A military column shoots a civilian in Hpakant area

It has been reported that a military commission column advancing through Hpakant area shot and killed a civilian with a firearm.

This morning, the military column was active in Mashi Kahtawng and, near the Mashi Kahtawng Hospital, shot a man dead with a gun, according to a local resident of Mashi Kahtawng.

It is also said that the identity of the man killed by the military commission’s gunfire is not yet known.

The military commission column, during its offensive in the Hpakant area, has reportedly continued to arrest, beat, and shoot dead any civilians they encounter on the roads, and abduct them for use as human shields. Due to these actions, locals stated that people are warning each other to avoid the military commission column and remain cautious.
