AAPP Reports 115 Deaths in December

According to a statement released on 3rd January by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), a total of 115 people including democracy activists and civilians were killed across the country in December 2025 due to actions by the violent military.
Of the fatalities, 98 were due to airstrikes, 13 due to heavy artillery, 2 due to shootings, and 2 others are still under investigation regarding the cause of death.
The reported death list includes only those whose information could be collected by AAPP and whose names could be verified.
On the ground, the actual numbers may be higher, and around 120 deaths in the month are still awaiting verification.
In comparison, in November 2025, the violent military caused the deaths of a total of 64 democracy activists and civilians.
Additionally, around 108 deaths in November are still pending verification. The number of deaths in December is observed to be higher than the death toll in November.
