After the military junta closed the road section between Myitkyina and Putao at Lamung Zup village in the upper Myitkyina area, military transport planes have been continuously arriving, causing concern among local residents.
"Just in one day, the military's transport plane Y8 has come three times. They must be transporting weapons and supplies. The Myitkyina road was also closed just this morning, so direct conflict can’t be avoided. People in Putao should be very cautious," said a local man yesterday.
The road between Myitkyina and Putao was closed by the military yesterday morning, October 23, citing military reasons. Following that, the military junta’s large transport plane Y8 arrived at Putao airport up to three times.
As a result, locals said this is not direct conflict yet, but the security situation in the area may intensify, creating reasons for concern.
This month, there have been battles along the Myitkyina-Putao road, and in the Hkawng Lang Hpu township area, the resistance forces have successfully attacked and seized two military junta army camps shared with the local Militia forces.
