It has been learned that the military council carried out two airstrikes on Lamyang village area in Waimaw area, Kachin State, which is under the control of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA).


Since yesterday morning, the area around Lamyang village had already been under artillery fire, and at around 1 p.m. in the afternoon, two bombs were dropped by a jet fighter, according to a local from Lamyang.


The military council has been firing artillery from Infantry Battalion (58) in Waimaw town and from positions of the Northern Regional Command (Ma Pha Kha), and reports say that military activities have been increasing in recent days in both Myitkyina and Waimaw.


It is also reported that military council troops frequently conduct artillery shelling and airstrikes in the direction of Lamyang village.


In addition, on the night of August 24, an artillery shell fired from the Northern Regional Military Command (Ma Pha Kha) based in Myitkyina fell on a house in Rampu ward, causing an explosion and resulting in the death of a child.


Currently, military council forces are launching offensives in both Bhamaw and Hpakant areas while also advancing towards Tanghpre and the Lamyang side of Waimaw.
