An airstrike in Lang Se area kills one man and one woman

In the Lan Se area of Sawlaw Township,Chipwi District, Kachin State, a military aircraft belonging to the SAC (State Administration Council) carried out a bombing raid, resulting in the deaths of two civilian residents and injuries to four others.

The incident occurred around 2:25 PM on September 22, when two military-owned jet aircraft that came from the Mandalay -Tada U direction carried out the attack. One of the aircraft bombed the Lahu Se area, where fighting is taking place, while the other bombed the Lang Se village area.

Consequently, one woman and one man were killed, and it is reported that there was also significant damage to houses.

The active combat zone is located about a six hour motorbike ride from Lan Se village. The bombing on Lang Se village was an attack by the military, as there was no ongoing fighting in that location.

The fighting remains intense as SAC troops and Hkawng Lang Hpu Militia forces, with a strength of around 300, have been launching assaults from Hkawng Lang Hpu Township on the Lahu Se camp, which is controlled by Kachin Independence Army (KIA) allied forces, since September 19.
