Anti-Military Protest by Maw Lae Revolutionary Group in Hpakant Area

In Hpakant area, Kachin State, the Maw Lae revolutionary group staged a protest this morning, March 17, against the military’s brutal actions.

Residents of Hpakant and members of the Maw Lae group demonstrated with banners reading, “We do not want a brutal military that bombs and kills innocent people,” “We do not want any authoritarian system; the people come first,” and “Let all citizens join to cut off military dictatorship at its root.”

In addition, they voiced opposition to the military’s use of aerial attacks, drones, and heavy weapons in the Hpakant area.

Meanwhile it is reported that the Military council forces have continued to carry out airstrikes across the country, including in Kachin State.
