Around 20 Youths Touring During Thadin Gyut Holidays Taken for Recruitment in Mohnyin Town

It has been reported that around 20 youths who were visiting Mohnyin town during the Thadin Gyut holidays were taken for recruitment by the Shan Nationalities Army (SNA).
“During the holidays, youths coming to visit the Myenu bridge in Hopin town, Myothit village, and Myenu village were apprehended by the SNA for recruitment. Around 20 people were taken,” a source said.
Most of those detained were youths from Myitkyina, Namti, and Hopin town, along with some from Myenu village. Since late September, SNA and members Militia have been conducting weekly recruitment operations in Mohnyin Township, taking youths from Balu Myo Bonchaung, Pin He village group, and Pintha village.
It is reported that those apprehended were transported to Nam Mun town and taken into a Pagoda Monastery to undergo military training.
