According to local residents in Hpakant, at least five houses were damaged after the military carried out airstrikes in the ward area of Mau Maw Bum Village, located in Hpakant Township, Kachin State.

The military council carried out bombing attacks using Y-12 aircraft and jet fighters after midnight on February 24, not only in Mau Maw Bum Village where no fighting was taking place but also in other villages in Hpakant Township.

Although fighting in the Hpakant area has been relatively calm in recent days, the military council has been deliberately conducting airstrikes in residential neighborhoods and villages where civilians live.

On the other hand, military forces have also been launching frequent attacks using drones and heavy weapons almost every night in Waimaw Township, where clashes have recently resumed, as well as in areas controlled by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA). Continuous airstrikes have also been carried out in these areas.

As the military council has intensified its airstrikes in recent days, resistance forces have issued warnings urging local civilians to take refuge in safe places and to remain alert and cautious in their daily movements due to the risk of air attacks.
