According to local sources, the Myanmar military council carried out more than 40 airstrikes this morning, October 21, starting around 7:30 a.m., targeting the Hpakant area under KIA Brigade 9, Battalion 6 territory.

It is reported that Y-12 aircraft conducted repeated bombing runs over the Ginsi area in Battalion 6 territory. Most of the bombs fell in forested, uninhabited areas, and as of now, there have been no civilian casualties reported. However, since nearly 40 bombs were dropped, verification is still ongoing, and detailed information has not yet been confirmed.

The military council has frequently launched air and heavy artillery attacks on the Hpakant area, resulting in civilian casualties on several occasions.

Similarly, near Yuma and Mashi Kahtawng villages yesterday, clashes broke out between the KIA and combined forces of the Myanmar military and the Shan Nationalities Army (SNA) after the latter advanced their troops toward the area.

During the fighting, the junta’s troops provided artillery support from Tat Ma Kung base, and shells landed in Yuma village, causing explosions and civilian casualties, reports say.

Meanwhile, intense clashes continue in Bhamaw and Waimaw fronts in Kachin State.
