The counteroffensive launched by the KIA joint forces, which began on Christmas Day, December 25, is continuing with intense fighting up to the morning of December 27, according to sources.
The military council reinforced its troops in Bhamaw town in early August and has been conducting offensive operations. In response, the KIA, which has been resisting these offensives, launched a counteroffensive on the morning of December 25, opening multiple fronts.
On the first and second days of fighting, there were casualties on the military council’s side, including battalion commanders and strategic commanders, and weapons and ammunition were reportedly seized.
The KIA launched offensive attacks on the Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 47 base, Unit No. 641, and remaining military council positions in Bhamaw town.
The KIA joint forces have been carrying out offensives to seize Bhamaw town since early December 2024, and the fighting has now lasted for more than one year.
Although other media outlets have reported that LIB 47 has been completely seized, Pajau Media is still working to independently verify this information.
