Intense Fighting Continues in Hugawng Area; Security Checks Tightened

Due to intense clashes ongoing in the Hugawng area, the military council has increased security checks and questioning within villages, according to local sources.

As security checks and interrogations are being conducted around the clock inside villages, local residents are facing serious difficulties in their movement and livelihoods.

Fighting has been intense in areas under KIA Battalion No. (14) since December, and the military council is reportedly conducting inspections even in hotel rooms.

Because of the fighting, waterway routes between Tanai and Awng Lawt villages have been blocked. In addition, in Ting Kawk village, Militia forces have set up checkpoints and are carrying out inspections and questioning, according to sources.
