Bhamaw Town Battle Continues Fiercely, Expected to Last Long

Due to the military council’s full deployment of forces to capture all of Bhamaw region, the battle for control of Bhamaw town is expected to continue for a prolonged period, said KIA's information head Naw Bu.

Since early August when KIA troops arrived in the Bhamaw area, intense clashes have continued up to the present time. The military is also mainly attacking and counterattacking to retake lost camps with aircraft, drones, and heavy weapons.On September 11, military forces recaptured the heavy armoured vehicle camp and Kh. L. Y. (236) which were previously held by KIA units. Some military council backed sources claim that they have regained control of the entire Bhamaw region held by the resistance forces.

According to a military council statement, from December 4, 2024, to September 11, 2025, 4,616 soldiers were killed and nearly 5,000 wounded in the Bhamaw battle caused by resistance forces, though KIA denies the military’s casualty figures.During the ongoing fierce fighting, the military regained control in August of 366 camps held by KIA allied forces.

By September 11, they had recaptured three camps including two camps retaken in the latest operations. The Bhamaw battle continues nearly daily with escalating intensity.
