According to a Hpakant local source, the body of a man with gunshot wounds was found this morning near the Shwe Kyauk Saung store in Yuma Village, Hpakant.
The deceased was reportedly a man from Seik Mu Village, and he was found dead with a gunshot wound on the right side of his neck, along with additional injuries believed to be caused by bomb shrapnel.
Yuma Village is known as an area where clashes frequently occur between junta troops and resistance forces.
In addition, it was reported that at around 6 p.m. yesterday, clashes broke out near Nyaung Pin Kone hill and the monastery on Maw Si Zar Mountain due to military movements by junta columns.
During the fighting, heavy weapons fired from the Hpakant Base landed and exploded inside Maw Si Zar Village, injuring a 12 year old child.
Hpakant town has been an area of frequent clashes between junta forces, the Shan Ni Army, and the People’s Defense Forces since early November, when military reinforcements were deployed by all sides.
