At two military junta checkpoints in Lamung Zup Village, located in the upper part of Myitkyina, vehicles traveling to Putao are being charged checkpoint fees amounting to hundreds of thousands of kyats, and goods are also being restricted, according to truck drivers.

Previously, the checkpoint fee was around 40,000 kyats, but it has now been increased to more than 100,000 kyats. In addition, villages in the upper Lamung Zup area are facing restrictions on the transportation of goods, with checkpoint authorities imposing limits and collecting additional fees, sources said.

Villages in the upper Lamung Zup area include Alam, Awng Min Thar, and Tang Hpre. Essential goods such as cement and rice are not allowed to be transported freely and are subject to restrictions. It is reported that if more than five bags of rice are transported, a fee of 3,000 kyats per bag is charged.

Two military junta checkpoints are stationed in Lamung Zup Village, where inspections and questioning of passing cargo trucks and civilians traveling along the road are reportedly carried out with increased strictness.
