Civilians Killed and Injured by Heavy Weapon Fire

In the Hpakant area, civilians were reportedly killed and injured due to indiscriminate heavy weapon shelling carried out by State Administration Council (SAC) forces.

At around 4:00 a.m. on April 19, SAC troops launched an offensive with a large force toward Malang Dung village, firing heavy weapons and small arms indiscriminately as they advanced. As a result, a 4-year-old Kachin child was killed.

Later, at around 8:00 a.m., a drone bomb dropped by SAC forces exploded near Maw Si Sar village, injuring three civilians.

Currently, SAC troops are conducting large-scale military offensives and column movements in the areas of Malang Dung, Mashi Kahtawng, Nam Ma Phit, and Maw Si Sar. Fighting between the two sides remains tense and ongoing.

In the area of KIA Brigade 2, Battalion 14, clashes also occurred on April 18. During the fighting, KIA joint forces reportedly captured two positions held by Min Zay Thant Militia.
