Civilians Killed by Artillery Shells Fired by Military Council Troops

In Yuma Village, Si Pin Ward, Hpakant Seng Tawng, at around 7:30 pm yesterday evening, artillery shells fired by the military council exploded, causing severe civilian casualties and deaths.
The artillery was fired from the military council's strategic hill in Hpakant, resulting in the deaths of two local residents from Yuma Village, and at least 15 others were seriously injured.
A local stated that the shell exploded in front of Daw Pu Kwai’s house store in the back area of Yuma Ward: "The shell hit in front of Daw Pu Chyoi's house store where many people were injured. One person died from an abdominal wound. All the houses were damaged."
Additionally, at around 6:40 pm in the evening, a drone bomb exploded on a house in the Sharaw Hka Village area, resulting in the death of a man.
A resident from Hpakant said: “All night, they kept firing artillery from the Hpakant strategic hill; people are worried that it will hit residential homes like yesterday. Many people have been affected. Some have died, others are injured. It’s so distressing and we can't blame anyone in particular," he said sadly.
Moreover, Daw Nyu Seing, 88, who was among those injured in the artillery explosion in San Joi Village on August 3, passed away in the morning of August 5 while receiving treatment.
