In Kachin State, at least 10 clashes occurred between the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and allied forces and the State Administration Council (SAC) troops in April 2025, along with three airstrikes, according to a report by BNI-Myanmar Peace Monitor.

The 10 clashes primarily took place in the Bhamo and Hpakant regions, resulting in three civilian deaths, four civilian injuries, and nearly 1,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs).

Nationwide, Myanmar saw 90 armed clashes, 110 military airstrikes, 79,222 IDPs, 208 civilian deaths, and 331 civilian injuries during the same period.

Fierce ground battles continue in the Bhamo region, where the KIA has launched offensives to capture the remaining military outposts—S.K.Hk (21) and Hk.L.Y (47). The KIA has already seized most of the State Administration Council SAC’s bases in the area.

Similarly, fighting has escalated daily along the Myitkyina-Hpakant road, particularly in the Nam Ya to Kat Maw Zup stretch.

Amid ongoing heavy clashes, the SAC continues daily aerial bombardments, while the KIA maintains its counteroffensives.
