Clashes Continue in Bhamaw Town

The battle for control over Bhamaw town has continued with ongoing clashes up to August 4, as reports indicate that the military junta is attempting to reinforce Infantry Battalion 88, according to local updates shared by Banmaw Scout Team.

The military is reportedly trying to reinforce troops at Battalion 88, and on August 4, attempted to advance from previously stationed military vessels, leading to continued confrontations.

Military vessels from the junta forces entered Bhamaw on August 1 around 9:00 p.m., and upon arrival, unloaded troops and equipment, sources said.

Additionally, there are efforts to increase troop movement along the Bhamaw riverbank areas, particularly in the villages of Khon Thar, Tat Kalay, and Shwe Kyi Nar, according to reports.

Military activity reportedly intensified upon the vessels' arrival, including airstrikes on riverbank villages and surrounding areas.

Due to these attacks, a 17 year old young woman from Kyun Kyi Village in Banmaw was reportedly killed.
