Although active fighting has recently subsided along the Bhamaw, Hpakant, and Waimaw fronts, the military junta continues to carry out aerial drone bombings, artillery shelling, and airstrikes, according to sources.
According to the KIO News Department, from January 4 to January 11, fighting in Kachin State remained largely calm; however, in Bhamaw, Hpakant, Waimaw, and other areas, the military junta carried out artillery shelling (205 times), drone bomb attacks (29 times), and airstrikes (up to 70 times).
In addition, only two incidents of direct clashes were reported during this period, indicating a situation in which fighting has slightly subsided.
During the past week, a direct clash also occurred in Hpakant-Mai Naung Village, while in the Bhamaw-Sinkone Village area, the military junta conducted troop movements and military operations, accompanied by bombardments and attacks.
