Domestic Gold Price in Myanmar Rises Alongside Global Gold Prices

According to gold and currency traders, the domestic gold market in Myanmar has reached over MMK 9.5 million per tical, keeping pace with global gold prices.

Currently, in the external market, the selling price for 16 pyas per tical gold is MMK 9,490,000, and the buying price is MMK 9,590,000, while for 15 pyas per tical gold, the selling price is MMK 9,030,000 and the buying price is MMK 8,930,000.

In Myanmar’s domestic gold market, the highest price record was set in late June 2025 at MMK 8.2 million per tical.

Although the military junta in Myanmar has set the official gold price at MMK 6 million per tical, current external market prices have exceeded MMK 9 million per tical.
