Since last December, the junta forces and allied militia groups have been carrying out military operations in the Hugaung-Tanai area, and they are still reinforcing their troops and maintaining their presence up to the present time, according to available information.

The junta and allied forces have been launching continuous offensives using airstrikes and heavy weapons, advancing toward the KIA Battalion No. (14) area. As a result, KIA forces were forced to temporarily withdraw.

In addition, offensives are continuing toward the Nam Byu area area of Tanai. As this region includes the Gold mining and Amber mining areas, which are highly suitable for economic activities, local residents believe that this is the reason for the current military offensive.

At present, the junta has also taken positions in the Wai Law gold mining area of Tanai. It is reported that they are looting and using belongings left behind by civilians in the mining sites. Due to the military’s occupation of the Wai Law gold mine, operations there have come to a halt.

Meanwhile, in the Nam Byu area, where troop reinforcements are ongoing, there have been continuous attacks involving heavy weapons and drone bombs. The military situation remains tense, with both sides engaged in ongoing confrontations.
