Daily Airstrikes Reported in Hti Gyaing Township; Military Council Recaptures Tagaung

Frequent airstrikes have been carried out in Hti Gyaing Township, Sagaing Region, and on March 10 at around 1:00 PM, a fighter jet that took off from Tada-U dropped bombs twice on Zee Kone Village, killing about 8 civilians and injuring around 18 others, according to sources.


Similarly, on March 9 at 2:14 PM, a fighter jet from Tada-U dropped bombs twice near Aung Thar Kone Village. Later at around 4:30 PM, two fighter jets from Tada-U dropped approximately four bombs near Sap Sar Village and Nita Village, injuring two civilians from Nita Village and three civilians from Sap Sar Village.


In addition, on March 8 at around 12:25 PM, a jet fighter that took off from Homalin dropped two bombs near the Alay Taw village tract hospital, injuring two civilians.


After renewed fighting to capture Hti Gyaing town began on February 28, the military council has continued conducting airstrikes. Communication lines, including phone and internet services, have reportedly been cut, while local residents have been warning one another to remain cautious of possible air attacks.


Meanwhile, Tagaung town in Sagaing Region, which had been under the control of the KIA/PDF joint forces for over a year, was reportedly lost on March 10 at around 1:00 PM. The military council has now regained control of Tagaung town and the entire Mandalay Region, according to reports.
