Ongoing military tensions continue daily between the Military Council and joint resistance forces across Bhamaw, Waimaw-Lamyang, Hpakant, and the Bhamauk frontline areas near the Sagaing–Kachin border.
Almost daily clashes have been reported with intensifying confrontations between both sides. In the Bhamuk area near Khuntha village, joint KIA forces launched an offensive attack on the Military Council troops at around 5:30 a.m. on October 13, leading to intense fighting between the two sides. It was reported that during the clashes, the military used jet aircraft to conduct aerial bombing strikes in support, while gunship helicopters also carried out heavy machine gun fire attacks.
Since late September, KIA forces have resumed attacks on previously occupied military positions along the Bhamo frontline, reportedly regaining control of several bases. Similarly, in the Hpakant frontline area, military movements by the regime’s forces have increased since early October, and daily ground battles, as well as air, drone, and artillery assaults, have continued.
In the Waimaw–Lamyang frontline area, the advancing Military Council troops met with resistance, resulting in confrontations that occurred three times within a week. Clashes have also persisted along the Bhamauk frontline on the Sagaing–Kachin border between the junta forces and the joint People’s Defense and resistance forces, with daily intensifying military engagements.
