Fighting breaks out between two armed groups in Lone Khin village, Hpakant Township

According to military sources, intense clashes have resumed between the combined forces of the Myanmar military council and allied troops, and the combined forces of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) in Lone Khin village, Hpakant Township, Kachin State, beginning in the early hours of this morning.
Starting at around 5:20 a.m. today, May 4, armed clashes erupted in and around the Lone Khin village golf course, the cemetery area, and near Maw Si Sa. Following this, continuous sounds of gunfire and explosions from heavy weapons were heard inside the village, according to local residents.
Due to the ongoing heavy fighting in the Hpakant area, resistance forces have also issued warnings to civilians to remain cautious and vigilant regarding possible airstrikes and to avoid unnecessary travel.
In Hpakant, clashes have intensified again since April 2. It is reported that the military council forces have been conducting large scale ground offensives, as well as daily attacks using airstrikes, drones, and heavy artillery.
