A fire broke out in Hopin town, Mohnyin Township, on the evening of October 1 around 4:00 p.m., destroying five houses, according to local reports.
The blaze started inside the warehouse of a General Store, located in Myoma South Ward, Hopin, due to gasoline ignition. It took over an hour to bring under control, with the fire finally extinguished at about 5:30 p.m.
Residents said the flames were too intense to be contained by the two fire trucks initially deployed. Only after reinforcements from nearby towns arrived was the fire successfully put out. As a result, including the warehouse, a total of five houses were destroyed, and valuable property was lost. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. It was also learned that last year in Hopin town, two houses were similarly destroyed by fire.
