Authorities have announced that the main road between Mai Ja Yang town and the Dum Bung stream, which was damaged due to flooding during the rainy season, is currently undergoing repairs. As a result, road users are allowed to travel only during designated time periods.
According to the announcement, repair work began on January 6, and passenger vehicles are permitted to travel only between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. in the morning, and between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the evening.
In addition, ten wheel trucks and other large vehicles, including twelve wheel trucks, are temporarily prohibited from using the road. Smaller vehicles, such as four wheel and six wheel vehicles, are allowed to travel between 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.
Authorities stated that the public is requested to be aware of and comply with the designated travel times, and that large vehicles under travel restrictions may only proceed with prior permission from the relevant authorities.
The Mai Ja Yang–Laiza road was damaged by erosion caused by severe flooding on August 4 last year, resulting in significant deterioration of the roadway.
