It is reported that the dead number of people among the trapping locals between the two armed-groups along the Myitkyina-Bhamo road has reached four.
“The old woman who died yesterday was the fourth one among the trapping locals in Aung Myay (2) Village. She died of suffocation. She was buried in her own yard,” said a local resident.
It is said that, among the people trapped in the village of Aung Myay (2), a total of 4 people have died. In addition, the old woman who died last night was about 87 years old and died of suffocation and was buried overnight. The other three were said to have been killed by the SAC’s airstrikes and weapon explosions.
A resident who was trapped in Aung Myay (2) said, “Since March 7th, we have been trapped until now, and we still can’t get out. As we all know, more than 900 local residents were gathered in the monastery and the SAC dug ditch around the monastery with an excavator. We can’t get out anywhere. The day we were trapped, the platoon leader said you all must stay here, no one can leave. You’ll need to stay here for three days. Within three days, Aung Myay (1) will be pulverized and you can leave after three days,” he said.

Another local said, “Clashes are going on, so all the people are scared and fleeing for their lives to escape from the danger of drones and heavy artillery bombardments. Therefore, the domestic animals (such as dogs, pigs) which are left in the village are dying because there isn’t any food for them to eat. Dogs can’t even bark as they have not eaten any food. During this time of clashes, the number of thieves also increased. Just as the world is falling apart, we have to flee from the clashes and also have to worry about thieves. As soon as they attacked with airstrikes, they dropped the bombs with drone and after that they attacked with airstrikes again."
Although the residents have been there for more than three days and they have not been asked to leave. And the locals are not satisfied that the SAC was treating the locals like human shields and violating human rights, but they could not do anything about it.
Therefore, a total of more than a thousand residents of Aung Myay (2), including some residents of Shwe Nyaung Pin, were not allowed to leave because the SAC did not allow them to leave. In order to evacuate the trapped people, the KBC, civil society organizations and the Wa Shawng monk have repeatedly requested permission from the Head Strategist, the Deputy Strategist and the commander of the Northern Military Command, but the permission has not yet been granted.
