Gold Shop Robbed in Maw Wan, Hpakant

While the current military situation is intense in Hpakant town, Kachin State, it has been learned that there are also armed robberies and hold-ups happening on the other side.

Yesterday around 1 PM, a gold shop in Maw Wan ward, Hpakant town, was robbed by two men armed with guns.

According to an eyewitness, "We were on this side of the road. Robbers hit the goldsmith shop in the afternoon. As soon as we heard it was a robbery, everyone ran and gathered around. But those two had guns, so no one dared to get close. They smashed the display case and took the gold."

It is reported that the two robbers were each carrying a short rifle and a long rifle, and they fled immediately after the robbery on a motorbike they had brought with them.

Similarly, a gold shop called Shwe San Li in Myitkyina town was also robbed by three people who covered their faces with helmets.
