Heavy Fighting Continues in Lone Khin Village; Airstrikes Ongoing

Intense fighting is currently ongoing in Lone Khin Village, Hpakant Township, Kachin State, and airstrikes have been carried out since the morning of May 8 by the military council, according to local sources.


At around 10:00 a.m. on May 8, airstrikes were conducted in and around several locations in Lone Khin Village Tract, including a jade mining site in Malawng Maw area, as well as Maw Si Sa Pagoda Hill, Thar Yar Kone, and surrounding areas near Malawng Maw.


It is reported that during these airstrikes, residential houses were damaged and there were also civilian injuries.


The military council has been carrying out simultaneous ground offensives in the Hpakant area in recent days, along with landmine planting, artillery shelling, and continuous airstrikes in the region.
