Heavy Fighting Continues in Three Townships in Kachin State; 16 Clashes Recorded in One Week

Fighting is continuing in three townships in Kachin State, with a total of 16 clashes occurring within one week, from February 1 to February 7, according to a statement released by the KIO Information Department.
Currently, fighting remains ongoing in Bhamo Township, Hpakant Township, and Waingmaw Township in Kachin State. The military junta continues daily attacks using aircraft, drones, and heavy artillery.
It is reported that the junta’s aerial bombing campaign in Kachin State has been most intense in the Bhamo area, with more than 41 airstrikes, 48 drone attacks, and over 350 heavy artillery shellings recorded within a single week.
In addition, fighting is also continuing in the Indawgyi area of Mohnyin Township, Kachin State. Furthermore, during the final week of January, intense clashes were reported in northern parts of Kachin State.
