Hpakant-Kyauk Thway Mountain Targeted by Military Commission Drone Bombing, Father and Son Killed

It is reported that at around 5:30 PM on September 22, the Military Commission forces dropped two bombs by drone on Kyauk Thway Mountain village in Seikmu village tract, Hpakant, killing a father and his son on the spot.

“From Hpakant military base, they shelled all night long, and we had to hide in bungkers all night. It’s hard. Families who fled the fighting have also escaped already. I don’t know if it was drones or large weapons shelling us,” said a local man from Seng Tawng area.

The deceased father and son were identified by locals as U Kyaw Soe (45 years old) and his son Maung Htoo Htoo San. Due to continuous shelling with large weapons and drone bombs by the Military Commission throughout the night, civilians had to stay in bomb shelters all night, sources said.

In Hpakant area, daily casualties continue due to shelling by large weapons and drone bombs, and people say the Military Commission is terrorizing the population while preparing for the upcoming election.
