According to truck drivers, hundreds of vehicles are stranded along the Shwebo-Myitkyina strategic road in Thabeikkyin, Katha, Indaw, and Mawlu areas where clashes between the two sides are currently taking place, and the road has been blocked due to security concerns.

It is reported that due to the ongoing military situation, passage along the Shwebo–Myitkyina strategic road has been temporarily closed, leaving cargo trucks and travelers stranded for about a week.

It is further reported that joint military commission forces launched offensives from late April to retake control of the Thabeikkyin, Katha, Indaw, and Mawlu areas along the Shwebo–Myitkyina road, which had previously been controlled by resistance forces, and clashes between the two sides have continued frequently since then.

Due to these security conditions, both sides of the armed forces have announced the temporary closure of travel along the Shwebo–Myitkyina route.

Local residents are concerned that the road closure may lead to a sharp increase in prices of food and consumer goods in Kachin State, as supply disruptions are expected.
