Internally Displaced People (IDP) fleeing to Namti Village from the Hpakant Road and Lido Road are reported to urgently need not only food but also warm clothes and blankets.

Local residents stated that displaced people arriving in the Namti area along Hpakant Road and Tanai-Lido Road are facing shortages of warm clothing and food. Households with many family members are experiencing even greater difficulties, worsened by the reduction in aid and support.

These IDPs have been fleeing since February, due to continuous military operations conducted by the junta along Hpakant Road and surrounding areas. They report that, due to the ongoing tense military situation, they have no safe routes to return to their homes.

Military operations by the junta and the allied People’s Defense Forces continue along the Tanai-Lido Road, forcing residents from villages such as Dumbung, Lawa Village, Kum Tsai Yang, Wara Zup, and Shadu Zup to flee to Namti. Residents from Nam Ya Village along Hpakant Road have also joined the displaced population.

Currently, there are up to six IDP camps within Namti Village, and with the onset of winter, there is an urgent need for warm clothing and blankets.
